Nephrology Fellowship Evaluation Process

Evaluations and ABIM Eligibility
Fellows' competence is assessed in clinical and cognitive skills; problem-solving ability; knowledge base and its application; patient-care attributes; exhibition of humanistic, ethical, and moral qualities; and technical-procedural skills.

Fellow Evaluations by Faculty
Fellow evaluations are submitted monthy and biyearly, and renal faculty meeting time is devoted to review of individual fellows' progress. Faculty members meet yearly to discuss and evaluatethe progam, and fellows are invited and encouraged to give input.

Fellow Responsibilities
Clinical fellows' responsibilities include performing logs of all procedures and completing regular faculty and program evaluations.

Program Director Responsibilities
The Program Director provides formal review of fellows' progress and/or deficiencies.
