ID Fellowship ACGME Review

ID Fellowship Program Gets Top ACGME Review

A recent site visit and full review for accreditation by the ACGME Residency Review Committee (RRC) yielded successful results for the Einstein-Montefiore Division of Infectious Diseases.

The ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) accredits more than 7,800 U.S. medical residency programs. Each program is reviewed every 1 to 5 years (average 3.7), and longer periods between reviews indicate the ACGME and RRC's confidence in the program's ability to provide quality medical education. The Einstein-Montefiore Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program was last reviewed in 2003, and as a result of its 2008 review the program was re-accredited for 5 years (the ACGME maximum).
