Division of Geriatrics

Overview

The Einstein-Montefiore Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program, a comprehensive one-year training program, prepares trainees for careers as clinician-educators and for clinical practice in the ambulatory, home, long term care or acute care setting. This fellowship is designed for board-eligible physicians in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. Additional years of advanced fellowship training are available for qualified applicants via several sources including a NIH training grant in Aging Research.

Geriatrics fellowship training primarily takes place at Montefiore Medical Center, the university hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Fellows work closely with the nationally renowned Division of Geriatrics faculty as well as the faculty from the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry. Fellows are exposed to leaders from Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine, and a strong interdisciplinary team including specialists from Geriatric Social Work and Nursing.
