Consultation Service for Osteoporosis

One-third of women and one-fifth of men over age 50 will experience osteoporotic fractures. The effects of osteoporosis can be minimized through early diagnosis and a specialized program that includes medication, diet and exercise.
The Harry and Jeanette Geriatrics Ambulatory Practice Comprehensive Bone Center Consultation Service focuses on the evaluation of osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases in older adults.
Services include:
- Osteoporosis screening (primary and secondary causes)
- Advice regarding nutrition, exercise
- Treatment with medications
- Fracture prevention
- Participation in osteoporosis research programs
