The program involves faculty and resources from the East and West Campuses of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, including the 4 hospitals located on those sites.
For most fellows, the first year of the curriculum is clinical and the second year is mainly research. Occasionally, fellows with a very strong interest in research may be offered a program in which the clinical activities are divided more evenly over 2 years and research is carried out from the beginning of the program.
Although all required training is completed in 2 years, fellows who want more research training may be able to remain in the laboratory for additional years according to arrangements made between fellows and their research mentors.
The clinical experience: rotations, conferences, required training activities.
The research experience: design and performance of high quality experiments under direct supervision of a research mentor.
