Dr. Heidi Gold Wins Moses Prize Competition

Second-year Dermatology resident Dr. Heidi Gold won first place in the basic science category for the 2016 Henry L. Moses Prize Competition for present and past Montefiore employees.

Sponsored by the Montefiore Staff and Alumni Association, this annual competition invites current and past Montefiore employees to submit one of their research publications. This year, the competition accepted papers published between January 2015 and July 2015; two prizes for basic science papers and two prizes for clinical medicine papers were awarded. Dr. Gold's paper, titled "PP6C Hotspot Mutations in Melanoma Display Sensitivity to Aurora Kinase Inhibition", was written during her research year in medical school and published in Molecular Cancer Research.

A native of Toronto, Dr. Gold is a graduate of McGill University and Sackler School of Medicine. She completed an internship at Maimonides Medical Center and a Melanoma Translational Research fellowship at NYU. Her clinical interests include general dermatology and pigmented lesions.
