Using a thoughtful, science-based approach that considers each patient’s unique condition, health, and concerns, Einstein-Montefiore’s interventional cardiologists make judicious, clinically distinguished treatment decisions and create long-term health management strategies that optimize recovery time, individual lifestyle, and extended cardiac health.
Each year, Einstein-Montefiore’s interventional cardiologists perform approximately 5,000 diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and 2,000 cardiac interventions among 10 laboratories dedicated to adult cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology studies.
Einstein-Montefiore’s patient population includes adults of virtually every race, culture, psychosocial background, and socioeconomic level, with cardiac diseases that include:
- coronary artery disease
- valvular heart disease
- diabetes
- congestive heart failure
Einstein-Montefiore’s interventional cardiologists work closely with specialists in the internationally renowned Clinical Diabetes Center to offer a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach to address the challenges of diabetes, including vascular problems, hypertension, and heart conditions.
A unified diabetes and vascular treatment center is currently in construction. Once completed, this facility will offer patients a single location for comprehensive treatment of cardiovascular conditions and diabetes, from diagnostic testing through surgery and postoperative treatment. Einstein-Montefiore comprehensive diabetes center will provide a single point of interaction between scientists and clinical treatment providers from a range of medical specialties, enhance collaborative studies and facilitating effective translation of basic science findings into useful treatment therapies for diabetes and cardiovascular problems.
