At least once per month, the program director (often with the division chief) meets with the fellows at lunch hour. These meetings are open-forum sessions in which the fellows are encouraged to articulate concerns about aspects of their training or interactions with other parts of the institution. The program director uses this setting to address issues of importance to the fellows in training. A broad spectrum of topics is discussed.
Beyond this, the fellows are asked annually, and one month before completion of their last year of training, to evaluate the program anonymously, commenting specifically on the strengths and weaknesses of each of the teaching sites. These forms are returned to the program director.
