Jorge Kizer, MD
Jorge Kizer, MD, Associate Professor (Cardiology) and Director of Clinical Cardiovascular Research, will serve on the American Heart Association (AHA) writing group "Assessing Cardiac Metabolism." This scientific statement was initiated by the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Sciences.
Dr. Kizer's research focuses on advancing understanding of biochemical and imaging determinants of cardiovascular disease and stroke, with the goal of improving diagnosis and treatment of these disorders.
Writing groups are organized to develop AHA clinical practice guidelines written for health conditions, procedures, and diagnostics. Members are cardiologists or other experts in the field of cardiology or cardiovascular research.
