Weiler Electrophysiology Group Performs First Radiofreqency Catheter Ablation
On June 18, 2008, the Einstein-Montefiore Division of Cardiology's east campus Electrophysiology/Arrhythmia Service, led by Eugen Palma, performed the first radiofrequency catheter ablation in its newly equipped lab.
The patient had been through a failed attempt at an atrioventricular node ablation at a different facility.
Dr. Palma was appointed Director of the Weiler Arrhythmia Service in August 2008. The Weiler Arrhythmia Service is part of the unified Arrhythmia Services of the Montefiore-Einstein Heart Center, where Palma and his group provide exceptional service.
