Study Overview
Recommendations for New York State Pediatricians have expanded to include the importance of a comprehensive transition policy at sites serving adolescents. The objective of this study was to assess what percentage of New York State pediatricians have a written transition policy where they practice. Surveys were administered to members of the NYS American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Analysis for the survey data indicated that a minority of NYS pediatricians have a written transition policy at their workplace. Those with a transition policy tended to be younger pediatricians and pediatricians who have practiced for less than twenty years.
