Kumar

Harini Kumar, MD

Born in Boston and raised in West Windsor, New Jersey, Dr. Kumar's interest in medicine first developed in high school through interesting coursework and volunteer opportunities at physicians’ offices and the American Red Cross. Upon graduation from Northwestern University, with a major in Religion, Harini moved to Maryland to spend a year working in Oncology research at the National Institutes of Health. She attended medical school at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where her interest in urban underserved medicine developed while working in student run clinics. She is currently a third year resident in the RPSM, set to graduate in June 2011, and is pursuing a career in academic medicine. Dr. Kumar lives in the Bronx and spends her free time exploring her interests in creative writing, reading, and film, and also enjoys spending time with friends and family.
