This course examines conceptual and theoretical frameworks shaping public health interventions, with a major emphasis on community-based participatory models as a foundation for community health programs. The course provides an introduction to the goals, strategies, values, and challenges of community-based participatory research. The course also addresses methodological and contextual factors influencing the design, implementation, and evaluation of community-based programs. Topics covered include history and principles of community-based participatory research, methods typically used in community-based research, and development and evaluation of community-based programs using participatory models.
