The MPH program is designed to accommodate students with a variety of scheduling needs, including those working full-time.
The “flexible option” allows students to complete the program in anywhere from 2 to 4 years. This option is recommended for those working full-time or part-time.
The “accelerated option” is appropriate for students who are not working and who are prepared for year of very intensive study and practicum work. Students enrolled in the accelerated option can complete the degree over a 13-month period (late June through early August of the following year). This option is recommended for current medical students, who typically pursue an MPH degree after completing the third year of medical school, with a total of 5 years required to complete the MD & MPH degrees.
All MPH classes are on the Resnick Campus. Electives offered by other Yeshiva University schools may be held on other campuses.
The program begins with an 8-week summer semester, starting the last week in June. Because of the intensive nature of the summer semester, applicants should be prepared to attend all sessions of each course. Each course is offered four days a week starting at 4 pm in the summer and once a week (8-10 am or 4-6 pm) in the fall semester.
Students are strongly advised to have taken a college level algebra/mathematics course in preparation for the required biostatistics course. For more information, please click here.
