Dr. Prasad, directs the Fogarty International Center-funded Einstein AIDS International Training and Research Program, an AIDS research capacity building effort focusing on India. This program allows researchers from India interface with Einstein scientific community to tackle the prevention of AIDS in India. He also directs the Einstein's institutional T32 AIDS training program as well as Directs the Developmental core of Einstein Center for AIDS Research to promote AIDS research. Dr. Prasad is an established AIDS researcher with research interests in defining the cellular and viral proteins that participate in early events during HIV infection, gene therapy for AIDS and viral determinants of HIV associated dementia.
Einstein Sponsored Educational Projects
Dr. Prasad, Director of Einstein's AIDS International Training Program (AITRP), has various potential opportunities for medical students to travel to India for their electives. Students must participate in a HIV/AIDS prevention research project, but mentors, location and details can all be flexible. There is also a potential stipend available through to AITRP program to offset the costs.
