Leadership in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND)
Through its LEND (Leadership in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) Program, CERC provides training to professionals in developmental and behavioral pediatrics, special care and general dentistry, medical genetics and genetic counseling, physiatry, psychology, social work, nursing, and other specialties.
CERC is home to one of 36 LEND (Leadership in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) programs in the US, offering hands-on training to professionals in developmental and behavioral pediatrics, special care and general dentistry, medical genetics and genetic counseling, physiatry, psychology, social work, nursing, and other specialties. Each year, more than 1,000 professionals receive long-term, intermediate-term, or short-term training through the CERC LEND program.
The Early Intervention Training Institute (EITI)
This federally-funded program provides interdisciplinary training to professionals and graduate students
serving young children (birth to five years) with developmental
disabilities and their families. A network of over 400 participating
institutions includes day care, Head Start, and preschool programs;
social service agencies; child protection and legal services
organizations; hospitals and medical centers; and universities.
Training activities include an annual series of lectures and workshops,
as well as, community-based workshops, presented by an interdisciplinary
faculty of clinician educators. Training emphasizes psychosocial risk,
as well as, developmental disabilities.
