I am Dominican-American, born and bred in the Bronx. Growing up only a few blocks away, my family and I developed a profound respect and admiration for anything that was attributed to the Montefiore-Einstein brand. Our devotion only grew deeper after my experiences with cancer at age 12; having them walk me, hand-in-hand, throughout the rigors of treatment. For many years I knew that I wanted to be a part of something noble. The Psychosocial Oncology program presented the perfect opportunity for to do so. In PSOP, I met a group of people who shared my passion for health and humanity. For two years now, they’ve nurtured this passion, allowing me to exercise and develop them. I’m currently an undergraduate student at City College (CUNY); my goal is to one day become a physician hoping to extend the range of my gratitude.
