I have been working as a clinic consultant/research assistant for the Psychosocial Oncology Program since Jan. 2011. I was drawn to the program because of the great work that Dr. Moadel and her team are doing for the cancer community in the Bronx. I have a special interest in cancer because I lost both of my parents to cancer at a young age. Because of my personal experience with cancer, I have decided to dedicate my life to providing emotional support for all and would like to specialize in working with cancer patients and survivors. I am currently coordinating a project in which we are trying to develop a support program for teens who have a parent with cancer and I am honored to be able to use my experience to help others in such a positive way. I am currently enrolled in a doctoral program in clinical psychology and I am hoping to use my knowledge to help cancer patients, survivors and their families, addressing their need for comprehensive care and support.
