Odds and Ends:
Several years ago, Dr. Goldman gave Arturo a plaque which is entitled "Life's Little Instructions" By H. Jackson Brown Jr.
Arturo liked the plaque so much that he placed it outside of his office and has underlined with a blue marker a few of the instructions. He believes that if we follow such rules we will be great scientists and individuals.
Underlined:
- Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.
- Strive for Excellence not perfection.
- Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures.
- Avoid negative people.
- Commit yourself to constant improvement.
- Return all things you borrow.
- Always accept an outstretched hand.
- Stop blaming others.
- Take responsibility for every area of your life.
- Don't be afraid to say I made a mistake.
- Don't be afraid to say I don't know.
- Keep your promises no matter what.
