Arthur Kozin, M.D. ’82

2018 Alumni Association Lifetime Service Award

Dr. Arthur Kozin has maintained a busy and productive 30-year career in clinical nephrology while also staying connected to Einstein. He is a senior attending physician in internal medicine and former chief of nephrology, and was the 2015 Physician of the Year, at Nyack Hospital; a senior attending in internal medicine and medical director of inpatient dialysis at Good Samaritan Hospital; and medical director of the Friedwald Dialysis Center, all in Rockland County, NY. While fully engaged in delivering compassionate, comprehensive, state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic nephrology care to patients, he has found time to serve as a member of the Einstein Alumni Association, including in leadership roles as president of the Einstein Alumni Association Board of Governors (2013–15) and chair of its nominating committee (2011¬–13), and class representative and organizer of the Class of 1982’s 25th and 35th reunions. After graduating from the State University at Albany magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and from Einstein, Dr. Kozin completed his residency at Montefiore and fellowships at New York University Hospital, Bellevue Hospital and New York’s Veterans Administration Hospital. He received Einstein’s Leo Davidoff Award in 1984 in recognition of his outstanding achievement in the teaching of medical students.
