Ms. Gunjan Gupta's research project entitled "Feasibility studies to asses if histone modifications in C. neoformans regulate expression of virulence associated genes" was aimed at "investigating if histone modification can predict epigenetic expression of virulence associated genes in switch variants" and "test if histone modification controls genes involved in capsule induction" She learned advanced techniques during her stay in AECOM and applied them for further study in India. The collaborative research that Ms. Gunjan Gupta conducted with Dr. Bettina Fries as the US mentor, lead to the publication (Review article) in Future Microbiology. After completing her study she plans to establish herself as a research associate in a reputed institute in India.
