Hiring Volunteers

How to Hire a Volunteer:
  • Administrator/Representative from department will complete the Volunteer Request Form. The form references an iCIMS requisition number-please make sure to indicate it on the form. If you do not know the number for your department, please contact Talent Acquisition.
  • If the Volunteer will be engaged in activities not listed in the iCIMS requisition, please contact the HR Compensation Department via e-mail: DL-COM- Compensation@einstein.yu.edu for further information.
  • Once the volunteer form has been completed, please email it to careers@Einstein.yu.edu.
  • Talent Acquisition will review the volunteer form and send an e-mail letting the department know if the form has been approved or if there are any questions pertaining to the volunteer.
  • The department/administrator is responsible for ensuring the volunteer complies with requirements in a timely fashion and assignments are appropriate and meet volunteer guidelines.
  • If the Volunteer is a minor (under 18 years old), please fill out an Institutional Biosafety Committee Minor Form and Minor Request Form and submit it to Human Resources with the Volunteer Request Form.

The Volunteer will be contacted by Talent Acquisition Representative to start the onboarding process which will include:
  • Completion of Volunteer Application
  • Criminal background screening (18 years or older) , Drug screening (18 years or older)
  • Original Working papers (17 years or under)
  • State/Government Picture ID (e.g. Driver’s license, passport, Visa documentation, etc)
  • Preventing Workplace Harassment training
  • Medical Clearance (if applicable)
