Welcome to the new Finance website. As you can see, we found time for some high-level redesign in the midst of our busy day-to-day work. We plan to do much more at the unit level by the fall.
And as you all know, we’ve begun to get ready for Banner, the new ERP system, which will encompass the general ledger, the grant master, purchasing and HR\Payroll. I thank you for your patience as we’ve begun to review our processes and prepare to implement Banner and the related reporting tools, now slated to roll out July 1, 2012. Thanks especially to those of you who smoothed the way with some of the early design and analysis. Banner will lead us to transform all of our processes, making it easier to run your part of this business. Beyond Banner, I hope that the data warehouse and new budget tools will help us all even more to manage the precious resources we have.
I have refocused the Department leadership in order to get ready for the new - Banner world. We have committed to a mission statement:
“The Mission of Einstein’s Finance Department is to enable the advancement of the College’s Mission by providing relevant and timely financial information to the executive leadership team, as well as to faculty and to the leadership of the academic and administrative departments. The Department continuously seeks to further the efficient management of the College’s resources and to ensure the integrity and compliance of the College’s business processes.”
We’ve redefined and clarified the functions of many jobs in the Department. From this link or the button below, you’ll be able to find each unit of the department, who is in it and what they do. This should make it easier for you to find the person who can best help you move forward. As we get ready for the -Banner go-live, we want to ensure that we’re meeting your needs. Please don’t hesitate to suggest improvements in our service to you. It may take a little time to change the systems, but our effort should provide you with the information and tools you need to easily and efficiently manage your grants and university funds.
