Chemical Laboratories: Under
provisions outlined in “The Rules of the City of New York”, Title 3, Chapter
§10-01, section (c) Laboratory Safety, item (1) states: The laboratory
safety provisions set forth in this directive will be under the general
supervision, and shall be the responsibility, of the person designated in the
permit application, who shall have had obtained a Certificate of Fitness from
the Fire Commissioner. At least one Certificate of Fitness is required, per
floor, on the premises while the laboratory is in operation and such additional
Certificate of Fitness holder(s) shall be provided as may be determined by the
Fire Commissioner. An applicant for such Certificate of Fitness shall have a
degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or satisfactory equivalent.
Such certificate will be in addition to any other required Certificate(s) of
Fitness.
