The Department of Psychiatry Residency
Training Program participates in the National Residency Matching
Program (NRMP). The program uses the ERAS system.
Residents will be selected based on their preparedness, ability,
aptitude, academic credentials, communication skills and personal
qualities. The following lists the materials used for evaluation
of all resident candidates:
- Original ERAS application and/or Updated Curriculum
Vitae
- Three letters of recommendation
- Notarized copy of Medical School Diploma (plus translation
if not in English)
- Original copy of Dean's Letter from Medical School
(plus translation if not in English)
- Original and Final Medical School Transcripts (plus
translation if not in English)
- Personal Statement
- Interview with Program Directors
- USMLE Scores (minimum passing score required)
For those resident candidates that have graduated from foreign
medical schools, the following additional criteria applies:
- Clinical experience, however, it is not necessary to
have United States clinical experience
- ECFMG certification
- J1 or H1 Visa
