Commons Registration

Electronic submission of proposals to NIH via the Grants.gov portal requires that the Program Director/Principal Investigator (PD/PI) be registered with NIH eRA Commons.  (Registration with Grants.gov is required for applicant institutions only, NOT individual investigators).

NOTE: PD/PIs currently registered only for Internet Assisted Review (IAR) must obtain a full eRA Commons registration using the process described here.

Each applicant institution manages the individual accounts for its investigators.  Einstein faculty investigators who plan to serve as PD/PIs may open an NIH eRA Commons account by completing an authorization form (see below) and sending it to C. Cardillo in the Einstein Department of Research Finance (cynthia.cardillo@einstein.yu.edu )

 

This forms may be printed, signed by the PD/PI, and faxed or mailed.  Alternatively, the form may be completed on screen, the file saved to one's hard drive, and then sent as an email attachment.  Forms sent directly using a PD/PI's AECOM or MMC email account do not require a signature.  Please note that saving completed PDF documents requires the full Adobe Acrobat program; the free Adobe reader is not sufficient.
